For the Week of June 1st to June 5th

Good morning Grade Threes. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Here is what I would like you to work on for this week.

Daily Practice:

Spelling:

  • Practice Phonograms, use phonogram cards or app.
  • Read over spelling list P5 words, (see Spelling City).
  • Practice sounding out spelling list words.
  • In Spelling Log, spelling section, write each word in syllables and underline the phonograms.
  • Do one activity or game regarding spelling list P5 on Spelling City.

Reading:

  • 15- 20 minutes story book reading, your chose, (own story book, or from Epic Kids or Raz-kids). Not a book on facts or a comic book.

Math:

  • Practice and memorize the skip counts by 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, and 11.
  • Try saying the skip counts to an adult with no mistakes.
  • Practice multiplication facts.
  • Do workbook p. 17A, submit on Friday.

  •  Answer the following questions about the Northern Lights. Write full sentences in your journal. You need a Title and a date on the top line of your page. Write your answers in a paragraph form. Do not number your sentences. Submit on Friday.

    2. Where are the Northern Lights usually seen?
    3. What causes the Northern Lights? *Give a simple explanation, from the Nature of Things video.
    4. What are the colours of the Northern Lights?
    5. Have you ever seen the Northern lights in the night sky by your home?

  • Print and complete the following Personal and Social Self Reflection handout. Click on the title below. Submit on Friday.
